Recap: Cole sat in the core chair and surged the city's core from the inside — and across the chamber, the wired townsfolk's eyes began to open.
PAGE 1 — The waking
- The core chamber: townsfolk opening their eyes, wires retracting from their temples.
- Confusion, tears, names shouted across the chamber — people finding each other after years asleep.
- Mara running between the chairs, calling out names, laughing and crying at once.
- The core dimming, its hum falling quiet.
- Cole still in the chair, slumped, his cyber eye flickering weakly.

PAGE 2 — The Warden's rage
- Screens shattering across the chamber as the Warden screams: "YOU BROKE MY QUIET."
- Drones swarming toward the core chamber from every corridor.
- The Rider in the doorway, both revolvers out, holding the line.
- Mara, over Cole: "He's burning himself out!"
- The Rider, not turning: "Pull him out and the core reboots — they all go back under."
PAGE 3 — Cole in the chair
- Close on Cole: eyes closed, breathing shallow, the chair's wires still at his temples.
- Mara: "Then we pull him out anyway. Nobody trades one cage for another."
- The Rider: "There's a manual release. One lever, three corridors away, guarded."
- Mara: "Then go. I'll watch him."
- The Rider, mounting his horse in the corridor: "Three corridors. Hold the door, keeper."

PAGE 4 — The ride
- The Rider flat out through streets now full of waking people, lanterns high.
- Drones diving at him; he shoots two off without slowing.
- A waking man steps aside, shouting: "Out of the way — your neighbors are waking up!"
- The Rider, shouting back: "That's the idea!"
- Ahead: the lever chamber door, guarded by a brute machine twice his height.

PAGE 5 — The brute
- The brute machine turns, fists like wrecking balls, blocking the lever.
- The Rider charges — not at the brute, but past it, horse skidding under its swing.
- The brute lunges; the Rider vaults off the horse, landing on its back.
- The Rider jamming his revolver into the brute's neck joint — one shot, sparks, silence.
- The brute toppling as the Rider runs for the lever.

PAGE 6 — The pull
- The Rider's hand on the big manual lever.
- He pulls — the whole chamber groaning as the core releases.
- Back in the core chamber: wires falling away from everyone, including Cole.
- Cole collapsing forward; Mara catching him.
- The core going dark — truly dark — for the first time in years.

PAGE 7 — The exodus
- The town marching out through the breach — hundreds of people, lanterns held high.
- Children riding on the Rider's horse, laughing despite everything.
- Mara walking beside Cole, who leans on her shoulder, still weak.
- Ahead: Dust Hollow's wall in the distance, its gate open.
- The Elder waiting at the gate with the kid, lanterns blazing behind them.

PAGE 8 — Home, again
- The freed town pouring into Dust Hollow — hugs, names, tears, food passed hand to hand.
- The kid showing the new children his map of the old station.
- Mara at the wall, looking back at the dark, silent city on the horizon.
- The Rider beside her: "First town I ever helped un-steal."
- Mara: "Don't get soft on us now, cowboy."

PAGE 9 — The cost
- Cole awake at last, his cyber eye dim, sitting up slowly.
- Cole: "Did we get them all?"
- Mara: "All who were left."
- The Rider, quiet: "The Warden still has the city. And it remembers your face now."
- Cole, looking at his own hands: "Good. Let it remember."

PAGE 10 — Cliffhanger
- Night. The freed town celebrates quietly at Dust Hollow — food, music, lanterns.
- Cole on the wall, watching the dark machine city on the horizon.
- A light blinks from the city — not the Warden's cold white. Warm. Amber.
- The signal, slow, in old sheriff's code: "THANK YOU… AND… SORRY."
- Cole, gripping the wall: "The city's still talking. And this time it's not the Warden."
